The YWCA  of Van Wert County provides services to those in emergency domestic violence situations as well as those referred by an outside agency. All services are available to men, women and children regardless of sexual orientation and services are conducted in a safe and confidential environment.


The YWCA is the primary comprehensive supportive living program serving Van Wert County and the surrounding region. We provide safe, stable, supportive housing and intensive case management for women, men and families. Our services may be accessed while living within our shelter or on an outreach basis by survivors living in other safe housing. 


When a woman, man or family enters our program they are looking to make positive changes in their lives. Residents work with staff to develop program goals of self sufficiency, accountability, responsibility, emotional stability, personal growth, and economic advancement leading to permanent safe housing.

Services Include:

  • Safe And Secure Location

  • Child And Court Advocacy

  • Mental Health And Aod Services On Site

  • Economic Empowerment

  • Employment Assistance

  • Support And Educational Groups

  • Case Management

  • Safety Plans

  • Hospital response and advocacy are available to sexual assault and human trafficking victims.

These are offered to survivors living within our facility as well as outreach survivors (those living outside the YWCA.)

Emergency Help

If you are in need of emergency shelter due to a domestic violence situation, contact the YWCA Domestic Violence Hot Line (567-259-9501) or call 911 for local law enforcement who will in turn contact the YWCA.

Referrals

If you are an emergency shelter or outside agency making a referral for housing, call 419-238-6639.
